Leading from the middle is often challenging and filled with tension. Learning to enjoy and navigate the push/pull that comes with a middle manager position is paramount for career longevity and satisfaction. The perception that leadership comes naturally to some, and not others, is a misconception. A strong middle manager greatly influences recruitment, retention and longevity within an organization.

This workshop is designed to provide the leadership tools and resources for future and current middle managers. This course provides participants the opportunity to self-evaluate current leadership and wellness practices. This course is an educational retreat for EMS professionals at all levels of the organization. This training focuses on the 8 dimensions of wellness while intertwining real EMS employment constructs.

EMS professionals will learn how personal beliefs impact our overall wellness and influence our job performance. One of Andrea's golden rules is to be aware of how much time we invest in toxic personalities when leading and managing an EMS team. This course is designed to better equip our FTO’s, supervisors, educators and middle mangers to effectively navigate difficult personality types. Disordered personalities are the most challenging to manage, often our leaders haven’t had the experience or education and training needed to equip them for success.

This workshop focuses on leadership & management strategies to mitigate stress and simplify the approach used to manage disordered personalities. This course is designed to teach EMS providers about the short and long-term effects of provider fatigue. Does sleep impact how we show up in our organizations? If so, how?

This course unpacks the current peer reviewed research around sleep and rest and gives providers the space to evaluate their personal beliefs. During this course we’ll learn how operational constructs impact sleep and rest. Participants will better understand the value sleep and rest offers EMS organizations through health, wellness, and longevity. Providers will leave this course equipped with tools, resources and knowledge on how to rest and sleep better on or off shift. Improving the quality of sleep and rest within our EMS organizations directly influences customer service and clinical quality.
