Leading from the middle is often challenging and filled with tension. Learning to enjoy and navigate the push/pull that comes with a middle manager position is paramount for career longevity and satisfaction. The perception that leadership comes naturally to some, and not others, is a misconception. A strong middle manager greatly influences recruitment, retention and longevity within an organization.
This workshop is designed to provide the leadership tools and resources for future and current middle managers. One of Andrea's golden rules is to be aware of how much time we invest in toxic personalities when leading and managing an EMS team. This course is designed to better equip our FTO’s, supervisors, educators and middle mangers to effectively navigate difficult personality types. Disordered personalities are the most challenging to manage, often our leaders haven’t had the experience or education and training needed to equip them for success.
This workshop focuses on leadership & management strategies to mitigate stress and simplify the approach used to manage disordered personalities. This course unpacks the current peer reviewed research around sleep and rest and gives providers the space to evaluate their personal beliefs. During this course we’ll learn how operational constructs impact sleep and rest. Participants will better understand the value sleep and rest offers EMS organizations through health, wellness, and longevity.
